hello geeks.
im a newly qualified nail tech and am about to start renting a seat in a new local beauty salon. and im sooo confused as to what i should be charging?
i was thinkng to have a intoductory price while i get clients in and gain experiance, but from reading thru threads and here many seem this the wrong thing to do!!!
prices range im my area from £35-£45, for a set of l&ps. the problem i have is i am new, and think will someone be willing to pay the same amount as a established salon?
any suggestions would be really really grrreat!!!!!!!!

You can have an introductory offer of some kind .. just don't call it a discount if you'll take my advice.

No sense in pretending you have more experience than you do ... you will soon be rumbled and it will be obvious to anyone who has ever had their nails done before that you lack experience.

Maybe have a 3 month offer for 'getting to know you' with your clients. THEN make it quite clear from the start that the offer ends on xx/xx/xxxx Date.

Introductory prices are good as long as you make it clear on your advertising when the offer ends and what the regular price will then be,
and don't sell yourself short,
charge what you are worth,
we all have to start some where and most of us have used introductory prices,
yes you will lose some clients when you put your prices up but these clients are the bargain hunters that you would have lost as soon as they found some where cheaper anyway, hth and good luck

Cheap prices=cheap clients.....sorry if that offends but that is what i feel..

ok thanks guys excellent advice. got it discounts bad, introductary offers ok so long as made very clear :)
eeek im so excited i feel like im gonna burst!
