Hello ladies, Im a nail tech not a beauty expert and Im looking for recomendations for a skin care range for myself.

In particular are the high street products (Olay, Boots No.7, etc) any good or am i better off looking at a professional range (Declor, Demalogica)

Price is a factor but more importantly value for money is a factor.

In particular im looking at anti-anging stuff, need to keep thses wrinkles at bay! And dont use anything at the moment.

Thanks you

Before i continue, im a nail tech not qualified in facials etc. Id recommend that everyone should try dermalogica at least once! I recently attended a dermalogica training seminar arranged by my college where i recieved samples, i will never use anything else for as long as i can afford it, the results are amazing, brings a whole new meaning to feeling clean! Im only 21 so wouldnt know about anti ageing products by them, but if they are like their other products, you wont be dissappointed xx

HI Lemmonie,
I am a facialist, beauty journalist, and ex beauty therapist as well as make up artist now too. Honestly, the brand doesn't really matter, (almost). What will make all the difference, results wise, effectiveness wise and value for money wise, is if the particular products chosen for you, actually suit YOU! For example, A cleanser or face wash from brand 'A' may be perfect for you, but the cleanser from brand 'B' a little too greasy or stingy for you. However, a moisturiser from the opposite brand may be perfect for you. I hope I am making sense! It's important that you get someone who knows their stuff to sell you products, otherwise you are wasting your money. The word ''anti-ageing'' is a bit of an oxymoron. Don't even worry about this! It doesn't really mean very much at all, it's just a good word that companies use to sell products. If you are looking after your skin and giving it regular attention, love and care,, then that in itself is ANTI AGEING skin care. Do keep in mind that some potent chemicals go into skincare, including nanotechnology. If you are concerned with toxic chemicals, the UK market is now very well supplied with excellent brands that are more 'natural' but still brilliant in quality and results. REN is good, but you will have to e mail them to check on the nanotech and if they include it as I'm not 100% sure. Same goes for Neal's yard & Nude. Also health food shops now stock some surprisingly good skin care!
