I am opening a new hair salon soon and want to employ my stylists on a 50/50 takings basis with them being self employed but one of them has contacted HMRC who have told her that she can only be classed as self employed if she rents a chair and that is not what i am offering. Does anyone have experience of this and can offer advice? :!:

I would suggest you contact HMRC to see if it's possible for a stylist to be SE on a profit split.
That way you can work it in your business plan and know you won't be liable for taxes.

Thats really helpful, many thanks x:smack:
