Hi everyone,

Just have a quick question about nail training. I am qualified in gels and acrylics using the edge system, however I have found that the nails do not last very long at all and there seems to be a lot of lifting near the cuticle after only a few days.

I have also found that this method takes such a long time to do. For a full set it could take me up to an hour 45 minutes which I believe seems like a long time and even longer if I apply a polish on top!

I am not sure if it is a problem with my application or if it is the products. I qualified about 8 months ago and was just fine but it seems even when I do a perfect set they just don't last!

Is it worth me completely re training with a different brand or should I just have some more advanced training with this brand?

Any help much appreciated!

Thanks!

Firstly let me state that I am not having a downer on The Edge products.
I am expressing my opinion of them.
I have tried them and found them to be a mid range product to use with a mid range result.
There are better products out there, CND, NSI, OPI, Ezflow and LeChat are at the top of my list. You just don't get the product break down that you find with mid range products. (they last longer)
I don't think that 1 hour 45 mins is to slow, I would expect to take about the same when I was doing them full time, now it takes me a heck of a lot longer:eek:
You don't need to do a whole training course again, you know all your basics, H&H contra indication etc. What would benifit you would either be a conversion class or a 121 day.
Both would teach you how to handle 'that' product, but a 121 day would allow the instructor to concentrate on your issues, in your case, your lifting, this normally turns out to be something really simple by the way and having an instructor watch what you do can give you a real Doh!! moment. I've had training with CND, NSI and LeChat and have heard great things about Ezflow.
Good luck hun.
