Hi all,
New to SG, hoping some of you with some hands on experience of owning or managing a salon can help me out...
I have my own mobile business in massage and beauty in London which does pretty well and I'm toying with the idea of opening a salon that also does massage and beauty, in London, most likely next summer when (I hope) this Covid panic subsides a bit. I just have some basic questions:
- When I browse available premises there is a leasehold figure quoted and rental figure posted. Does this mean I can either buy as a leasehold, sort of like a mortgage, or just rent from the current lease holder?
- What are the most obvious operating costs?
- Any pitfalls to be aware of that might not be obvious to me now?
- Are most staff employees nowadays or self employed contractors?
Any other thoughts or advice you may have would be greatly appreciated
Thank,
Georgina
