Hi Everyone. can i interduce myself.. im chez>cheryl.

i have been lurking round your forum for a couple of days now.
and just want to say.. a big THANK YOU TO YOU ALL

you have un-be-knowingly helped me decide > I want to do nails...
what Great/Helpfull/Talented people you all are.

and here i am knowing nothing...but i'm a fast learner....
being a nail biter all my life...
i had my first nail extension done for my 50th yikes!!!! birthday.
by a girl who came to my home..loved them.
dont know how i managed without them.!!!!

had them done again watched in amazement..then got to thinking.!!
i can do this. being good with my hands and having loads of spare time
as i'm home 24/7. looking after my disabled mum..

so christmas santa brought me.all the colours nail varnish/acryilics/tips/ect..ect..
e.drill/L&P/and air brush/compresser/videos/books/.must have been a good girl..

i have done L&P on my own nails, and this afternoon i'm going to try.gel.
im happy with them..and its saving me money doing them myself.
plus it gives me something to do.as i am bore'd silly here all day

i have done some designs and art work on some magnetic nails
i have stuck to a board.i bought off ebay..and enjoyed doing these..

i dont want to be a professonal nail tech.with my own business,
as i am far too old to start a career now.lol..

i am only wanting to do my own .and maybe my friends,
when they can trust me..lol
plus my mum would benifit from this..

and i want to be able to do it right.
and not do any damage to anyone's nails.
i would love to have 1-1 training or go to classes.but limited.
as i'm here with my mum all day...

sorry for the long post....hope i havant bore'd you all silly...

i will eagerly take in any info given. as i have my heart set on doing this
and doing it right......

thank you. chez

Hi Chez,

Welcome to the world of nails !

I would recommend that you do a professional course if you are intending to do your own nails and possibly friends. You could cause a lot of damage if you don't have enough knowledge.

I know Essential Nails do a home learn course, not sure how good they are, but it might be a start and worth you having a look into.

Hi Cheryl
Welcome to this site, I haven't been here long but it's fab!
Try Essential nails, the course is from home and you do it all in your own time { will work round Mum, mine did round 4 kids! } and if you are passionate about it, it will be a great starting point.

Good luck to you.
Love

Hi Chez, the Essential Nails course sounds ideal for you, and who knows what it could lead to? ... you're NEVER too old to start something new! I started nails at 37. My mum brought me up with the motto "there's no such word as can't", and there isn't!!! Welcome to the board!

Hi Chez,

Welcome to this fab site!

Like you I'm a newbie geek and have spent ages just reading all the posts and learning loads from all the geeks.

Enjoy and take care,

Kate.x:biggrin:

Hi and welcome to the site...
do get yourself some training, if for no other reason than to make sure you don't damage your nails and those of your friends.
