Help!! I have researched local prices for rebalances and it's £17! It will be my first paying venture and, at the speed I can go, I wont be making much money at it. I appreciate that they're in competition with the NSS, but one of them <that I know of> really cuts corners ie no real sanitary efforts on arrival, no consultation, no cuticle work and product is largely removed with a white block. I can't even say that her work looked bad, because it didn't, last time I saw it. She is always busy, has a good reputation and her rebalance clients are out of the door inside 30 minutes. She makes her money at it!

I am new to this, I want to do a special introductory price to attract clients and I can't see how I'm supposed to achieve this without sitting there all day for extremely little. Local full new sets range from £30 to £40 for French, but that's not our bread and butter, is it? That's the job of the rebalance. :irked:

I don't mind for a while, to gain experience, and maybe I'll learn how to work supersonic fast for all I know but I'd just like your opinions and advice on the situation and what you'd do under the circumstances? Would you be dictated to by other salons, dubious shortcuts and how would you expect to survive if you wouldn't, please?

have you got your client base yet? how long does it take for rebalance? I dont know how she can do it in 30 mins, I'd love too but dont think I'll ever get there. You could either do a intro offer for a limited period or a % off next time, free product like (cuticle oil). Do you do any other treatments?

Hi, no client base yet. Totally new venture in a new salon recently opened. I don't know how she does it inside 30 minutes but she does and, from memory, I can't even say they weren't good. She did cut the corners I mentioned, though, which I didn't realise at the time <wasn't doing nails then>. I am resigned to doing a really good introductory offer for a while, as I need the experience too, and this is a good way of getting it. I will just be offering a limited range of services in the beginning, which will include various types of manicures.

I don't mind about the money for a while, but I can't see how I could ever compete with her <although she doesn't do anything but enhancements> long term. I am almost resigned to thinking of this as extended training, tbh! :irked:
