Hi All
Perhaps l am the only one that thinks that many Doctors do not take nail disorders very seriously. l have had a few Clients that needed to be referred, due to certain characteristics and things that were told to me about the nails, only for the Client coming back saying the Doctor said all was fine, not wanting to cause worry they see another Dr. Only to be told they have very low levels of iron. Creams are the most favored even though they don't know what they are dealing with (some have even said they don't know what it is) what happened to being sent to a skin specialist or taking a sample - Yes l have heard on two occasions about taking a sample of the nail but some do not take it seriously. For example - l had a panaritium/whitlow - yes l asked my Doctor if l could have nail extensions put on with it - he said - yes :x
So - IM ON A ROLL - when a Client comes in with a Doctors note saying services are OK to do, is a bit of a predicament, we know we shouldn't, but we are not Doctors are we! Any one else had this problem? (l have moments when l ramble on - makes me feel better - he he)

My thoughts on this are.............

Well a lot of Doctors are not DERMA.... trained, thats a specialised field .... or just don't take nail problems to serious, unless it requires Anti-biotics..... ............
So if you are still in doubt, even thought the Doctors note would cover you for your insurance, should something go wrong.....................
From an ethical point of view, I wouldn't .....As I always say and I stand by that whole one hundred percent..........If in doubt leave it out ...............

Try to get clients to see a Derm............. Then they will do tests lol.........but they take ages ............
but at least , your clients will know, that you take your job very serious and know, what you are talking about ..........

just a thought
love Ruth xxxxxx
