well, you first need to decide why they are hurting.

if she has an allergy to the product then i would soak them off.
but if they hurt because the nails underneath them have been over filed, then i would recomend that they were infilled, but by a gentler technician using a quality product.
if they are hurting because they are now overly long because they have grown out of balance, they either need infilling or removing in acetone.

First off I'd file the length right down and buff them to see what the smell is like.
MMA has a weird fishy smell to it. And there could be a gel overlay on top.
If she's in pain I'd soak off in acetone with a wheatbag over her hands to speed up the process but if it is MMA it takes a while.
After that I'd retail her some oil and tell her to use at least twice a day.
You won't really know the damage until you can see the nails tbh.

if she wants an infil can i use my own products over the top of what she has had done xx

Good thinking...it's best to have a good look so you can see what the problem is mate.
Now...don't take this the wrong way....but I notice you are newly trained?
You are charging her for the appointment aren't you?
I do hope it's not a friend who just can't afford to go back for infills and thinks as a friend you'll remove them free....just with them not hurting her for 2 weeks makes me a bit suspicious...and we've all been in the situation where you are now hun.
You may find you have a lot of friends expecting freebies and cut price nails, just a warning, don't start it or they'll keep expecting it xxx:hug:

hi didnt think of it that way yes it is free as i dont feel good enough to charge yet just look at it as the more i do the better i will get xx

You AT LEAST need to cover the cost of your products hun and something for your time, the client obviously has faith in you so have faith in yourself and your work x

i know i should as all my friends love them i know they say this coz they are free but i still get lifting on a few and one has lost 6 of hers after 2 and half weeks so still getting problems saying that another 2 friends have had theirs on for over 3 weeks with no lifting or losing any so must be getting better i feel i need to sort these probs out before i can charge if i was to charge for cost what do you think is a fair amount xx

That's a tough one to advise love. You need the experience which you will learn from but you are going to be out of pocket with the use of your products.
You need to to get them to pay something so have a look at how much your products are costing and how much of your time is taken to begin with.
Post us some pics of your work if you get chance and maybe we can all help with any problems you have.
Like I say....once you start this they will expect it forever....
You'll find you get a lot of "friends"
