it depends on the type of gel you are dealing with.
soak off gels will break down in accetone but lots of gels are file off ones and completly resistant to accetone.

It all depends on the Gel it might be a buff off Gel.
If it is you can buff it to a thin layer then if need be soak the rest off I never soak I buff and leave a layer to grow out.

I've started using Star nails - Starlite gel. Is that a hard gel?

Hey sorry for butting in just reading this and thought it was interesting! Can you soak off the last few layers yeah?? I use EZflow gels and i buff them off but to be honest i dont like doing the last layers or so cos i feel like i maght damage the natural nail! so if i buff off most of it can i soak the rest off with acetone?

Hi there, that's ok, thanks for your advice! I use to do gels years ago, i do fibreglass now but thought i'd start doing the 2 systems again.

Also, what do you put on before the gel and after? is it a primer and a glaze after or something, just can't remember!!!

Well as i said i use EZflow so it could be slightly different, but I prep the nails then use dehydrator and primer then pink gel, white tips and clear building gel. Then after filing i use the Finish It top coat gel, it just goes on like a varnish but leaves a lovely shine. why dont you do a one to one with star nails.. it'll all come back to you then and it can iron out anything your unsure about
hth xx

Thanks for your advice!

know this new product? is called Magis Foil Nail Wraps, and has gone on sale since August of this year say it serves to remove gel. greetings
