Hi

My aunty wanted a french gel overlay for her holidays and I used akzentz gels but she has peeling at the free edge and they now look awful. She has had them on for 1 week. I didn't think they would last and told her this when I did the overlay. (She also takes medication for ther RA) Apart from filing back the natural nail so no peeling is evident has anyone else had any experience of this.

I'd say the peeling might just be caused from not capping enough... gel has a tendancy to shrink back off the nail as soon as you apply it, so it must be capped well before cured.

I have a few clients with rhuematoid arthtitis and have no problems with lifting, although it IS possible that the medication has caused the lifting, but as they were lifting from the free edge I think it's just because of the shrinkage.

HTH:hug:

I haven't seen them for myself, she text me about it. I capped the free edge well and think it could be that the free edge still had some peeling/flaking as she didn't want me to take them too short. She is coming to see me to get them re-done so will see what they look like when she gets here.
