Salon advertising

Hi guys I'm starting up a salon from home and just want to know your thoughts on what the best form of advertising is? Thanks

I am in the same situation. Not sure where to start. I live I. A small town and there is quite a few other home salons that I will be in competition with. Was thinking when I do get my 1st customer I will start a referral scheme. I will give the client a few of my business cards and mark them on the back with the new clients name. She will then give them to her friends and when they come to me they will get a discount and a few business cards. Hopefully this will work!
