I like it, sub contracting where could i find out more about this and contracts ? Thank you

I don't think you are quite understanding the difference between self employed, and subcontracting .
As self employed all you are is a land lord they are running there own business and can come and go as they please, if subcontract you have to pay them for the work you are supplying at tge agreed rate for the agreed amount of time.
Sorry ment to quote liza.

Because it's highly unusual to sub-contract in the hair & beauty industry.

If you are a builder building a new house, you sub-contract the electrician, plumber, carpet fitter etc. to complete specific tasks until the job is complete. They are effectively employed by you for the duration of the contract. You are providing the work for an agreed fee.

I'd strongly urge you to speak to a specialist employment lawyer for advice and help with drawing up contracts. If you try to do this yourself and HMRC decide it's a sham arrangement, you could be financially screwed. Especially, if it takes a few years for them to act. They can go back through your books for YEARS!

Does anyone know or found out the regulations for sub-contracting for example, is there a time limit you can hire someone for ie six months, or can it be on going. Obviously the rate of pay would need to be higher as the employer would not be liable for tax or NI payments. I know of some mobile therapists who are looking for extra work and this situation would work for me as the employer and for them as I wouldn't be interfering in their businesses.
