Does anyone know any bleaches specifically for sensitive scalps? It is for myself. I doubt I am allergic to persulfates seeing as I use them everyday at work, but last time I tried lifting my hair a few months ago with blondor soft blond + 20vol + olaplex it was very painful and had a lot of blistering on my scalp.

My scalp is the same, not matter what i use. Always sores, redness and blistering.

Try SP hair and scalp protect lotion, it really helped for me when i used to scalp bleach all the time! You apply it to the scalp before applying bleach.

As for a gentler bleach i'm not sure because i've only ever used blondor (and blondme which was even worse on both the scalp and hair!)

Hope that helps.

Thanks @cams97 ! I feel like my hair getting thinner and just sh*t recently and really want to do something to it! Even when I toned it really irritates me and I think I'm having a reaction like a hypercondiact!! Did you see this stuff tracy cunningham at meche are promoting? Called antidotpro. Supposted to stop all irritation in bleach. Otherwise I could try sweet and low lol. @Sugarplumfaery maybe you can try the SP lotion on me? Not this week tho ;p

Yes i seen that! They used it on the hands and everything for irritation too!

If your hair is getting thin maybe see a dermatologist? I've just recently got my referral because my hair has been thinning.

Sweet and low oh no[emoji23]

Yeah I know it sucks right @cams97 Iknow that I'm not getting younger and it's normal to get a bit thinner but I really like having hair! The sweet and low thing... we have a client that colours her hair at home and always had a lot of irritation and now uses it and says she doesn't feel anything! I'd try it out on myself!! Cant see how antidotpro would get around health and safety here!

Would you guys not get a referral to a trichologist where you are? Just out of interest.

No because trichologists can't prescribe medication, dermatologists deal with the medical side of hair loss so they can give medication!

I just thought it would make sense to see a hair specialist about a hair problem. They can work closely with your doctor.

Doctors aren't really clued up on the medications for specialist things like that... Dermatology specifically deals with the medication for skin, nail and hair diseases. Its always dermatologists that treat things like hair loss.

I'm studying Trichology just now, feels like forever! But we have learnt about the drugs used for lots of different conditions. A lot have different uses. We have been told we will work with the clients/patients doctor so they can prescribe and also so we can have a copy of their blood tests also very important before diagnosing a condition in some cases.

Have you tried silk lift?

I'm doubting it'll make a huge difference but it might? My son suffers with scalp blistering after bleaching and I've tried every bleach out there & with olaplex, the only one that diddnt blister was silk lift gentle, the ammonia free one, we diddnt use olaplex and it was before I tried others so not sure if it was the bleach was good or if the sensitivity came about after using it, I haven't used it since, he's a natural 7, he's not allergic perse but is highly sensitive, I'd love to find a new way to lighten his hair without hurting his scalp as he loves to ware his hair grey but I've taken the professional route at the mo & said no more bleach but he just thinks I'm being a bitch :(

Oh really? Are you studying at uni or?

Its just that dermatologists are qualified doctors, you have to be a doctor to do dermatology so they're already clued up plus they can prescribe medication so its easier to see a dermatologist. Its ok to get a second opinion from a trich though.

I'm studying privately attending lectures at rainbow rooms or the institute of physics in London, then I carry on my studies at Bedfordshire uni. I'm absolutely loving it, it's so interesting. I'm not really worried I can't prescribe I have the knowledge and don't mind having to work with their doctor. Maybe it'll take the strain off the NHS a bit.
