Self employed

Hi there, just after some advice please I am going self employed and looking after my best friends well established beauty room whilst she goes to have her baby, we are going 50/50 and she is covering all products and rent... but basically I’m stuck on how to sign up being self employed, would I be a sole trader etc, just wondered if there was anyone else who had been in this situation? That’s tricky because once you see a client, they become your clients. What’s the plan for when your friend finishes her maternity leave?

Hi there, you need to have a discussion with your friend if you are in a partnership or you are self employed and invoice her, both are dealt with differently regarding tax returns etc if you are a non partnership you would only need to register as a sole trader
