Right, firstly your public liability insurance is inclided in your "insurance" Check out The Guild or ABT (google both) They will provide your insurane at around £50 ish a year as a nail tech.
Secondly you need to register with HMRC who will provide you with a letter of conformation. You will need to pay NI which is about £2.40 i believe a week. Although if you earn less than a specific amount you wont be liable but do check with them first. They will send a bill/invoice with payement details on the back, you can pay weekly monthly etc.

You will have to complete a tax self assesment each year ( i just did my first!) for this you can do it online but you will need to keep details. SO each time you buy something keep the receipt/invoice and record the outgoing on a sheet/spreadsheet. Everytime you recieve a payement for work record this too. Do each on a monthly basis so when it comes to tax returns you have the details to hand.

You can pay an accountent to do this for you each year and budget around £150 for his help.

Other than that its fairly easy. Good luck and enjoy!

Hiya
I just want to add that you have 3 months from setting up to register with the tax and that you get the first year free so you don't have to pay tax for the first year. I have an accountant to sort it out for me it's sooooo much easier all I have to do is my books,,, keep all receipts.
Good Luck
