Hi

I'm quite new to the industry and live in Greece, i went job hunting last week and was asked by one salon whether i can do gel nails. I am only qualified in L&P with CND.

Do you think it is worth adding this string to my bow? Do you get many people wanting gel over acrylic?

Also, i am thinking of doing the essential nail course in Nail Art as i can do it from here, how important do you think this would be to qualify in? My thought was that nail art is a big part of the nail industry and that i should get some skill in it!

Any thoughts?

Right first thing i will say is that you can never have enough training and never have enough systems under your belt. If you can offer people any system then you will never have to turn people away.
Secondly, i think you should gain some skill in Nail Art as it is a big part of the industry in Greece and especially as summer is now approaching in the UK, however, it is not nessecary to have a qualification unless thats what you want or specifically need. I taught myself nail art through practise and YouTube videos and to b honest this is a far cheaper way of doing it but if you feel you need a course then thats up to you.
I am not a fan of Essential Nails so cant comment on them but good luck.

gel is very very popular round these parts ............ 70% of my nail business comes from gel and 30% from l&p.
