Hi all :)
I have done a search but nothing has come up.
Could someone explain to me what the difference is between the normal solution to the Q10?

The reason I ask is that I have either ordered the wrong product online or got sent the wrong one. But anyhow I dont mind.
It came in a white bottle and I just assumed it was part of there change that they are doing at the mo. So get to my clients house and explain 'dont worry they have just changed the bottle, solution is still the same' So I am spraying away and it is smelling different to usual, a bit more overspray and is going on darker and a different kind of brown I actually like it more than the usual one. My client eyes were lit up as she was loving it...thank god!! :)

So I got home and looked at the bottle and it says Q10. God I have blonde moments but not this blonde

So if someone could explain the difference I would appreciate it. It definitely looks better. I phoned my client and explained and said to let me know if she is still happy in the morning and if not I will spray her for free next time ( she is my weekly regular) xxx

anyone???????? x

You just sent my flying to my bottles to check! I wondered why mine had come in white bottles although I know I specifically asked for the normal 10% &12% (in clear bottles) I assumed like you it was something to do with the rebranding etc, i just had a sniff and you are right it smells different!!! I too wondered what the difference was, do you have the latest Sienna X Business Tips and News - newsletter Summer 09 edition which covers the exact topic? I had to dig it out again in light of your and now my discovery!!

I will quote it just in case....

What's the difference between the two types of Sienna X tanning solution?

"Our new, improved formulation 8%, 10%, 12% and 16% Solutions have a Coconut fragrance and include anti-oxidants ingrediants Co-Enzyme and Q10 and Vitamin E. They are parben and alcohol free making them ideal for all skin types, but particaulary suitable for customers with dry skin, as alchohol can have a drying effect"

"our 8.5% and 12.5% solutions have a lovely melon fragrance and include moisturising and anti-oxidizing co-enzyme, hyaluronic acid, rosehip and suma, all of which have excellent anti-aging properties helping to maintain elasticity, smoothing and strengthening the skin, giving it a softer appearence"

So maybe i am way off track here and sorry if i am wrong but I think that the Q10 was previoulsy only in the 8.5%, 12.5% Sienna X Pro Tan Q10, but now Q10 is in the regular Sienna X Pro Tan 8-12% and so on!?!??!

On the site the regular Pro Tan solution does not mention it now has Q10 but the Newsletter says it now does, and so does my bottle! Mystery explained?!?!? Maybe the site hasnt caught up or seemingly they dont think we need to know?

I am new to tanning so forgive me people if I am talking mess, just a bit confused!!

Cant wait to give my clients a spray tomorrow now to see what happens!

xxxx

Woops, forgot to add the all important Q10 into the description before  and i needed to put it in to make a point!

"our 8.5% and 12.5% solutions have a lovely melon fragrance and include moisturising and anti-oxidizing co-enzyme, Q10 hyaluronic acid, rosehip and suma, all of which have excellent anti-aging properties helping to maintain elasticity, smoothing and strengthening the skin, giving it a softer appearence"

Oh babe thank you so much for taking the time to write all of that info. Haven't received the letter yet.
I've always known of Q10 but never actually found out what it really was. Which is a bit bad of me.
Oh I am gutted I got sprayed only yesterday with the normal one! I want to try it now.
I bet the melon one smells lush!
So I guess it is in all solutions now then. They haven't sent me the wrong one after all.
Just turn your gun down a bit when you use it hun as I found it had loads of over spray with my usual setting and went on a little wet.
Let me know what you think of it and in the mean time i'll get scrubbing :) xxx

Q10 has alcohol in it, which sort of defeats the purpose of having Q10, it also has the melon fragrance

Thank you for your reply. So what is the exact purpose of it? Does it last longer?
I definitely thought that I couldn't smell as much alcohol. Maybe that's why there was more over spray xxx

Maybe a call direct to Sienna x can give you definative answers here...strait from the horses mouth kind of thing

You are very right collin, I think I will call them up now  xxx

I have used both, they both have Q10 according to their literature, I prefer the basic ones 8.10.12 etc not the .5% ones....

The basic ones definately spray on darker and I think develop darker than the .5% ones too! I have swapped clients from 12.5% to 12% and they are ALL raving about it! cant get enough of it! :green:

I tried the 16% for the first time yesterday, so far feedback has been colour is lovely but it smells mouldy - kept her awake all night  doesnt normally happen with the 12% so that's not good, even when I was spraying her she said it smelt horrible but I didnt notice any difference in the smell?

Hi Ladies

Sorry to butt in on your thread but I am still failry new to all this. Can I ask how many different %'s you stock. I use Tantrick and Sienna X and have 8%, 10% Tantrick and 8.5%, 10.5% and 12% Sienna X in stock at the moment and offer both depending on the clients skin type and what type of colour they are looking for I as I think Tantrick is a more golden brown and the Sienna X is more chocolate brown.

I was going to purchase a small bottle of 5% Tantrick and some booster drops so that I did not have to bother stocking anything higher than 12%, what do you think?

Taking a 5% up to a 12% in 100ml increments is asking a lot and easy to get wrong.

Why not try an 8% which you could take up to the 12% much easier.
Just a thought

I use Sienna-x
I stock 10% 12% and am waiting on a bottle of 16% I really don't see the need for anything lower than 10% and Most of my clients are pale. No one has ever said it is too dark, but just right. If you think about it there's only a difference of 2% that's really not much.
Not sure about the booster drops, us Sienna chicks don't have the need for them. You can buy the smaller bottles. You don't have to buy the whole 2ltrs xxx

Mouldy  Oh no. I know the sort you mean about keeping you awake all night. I hate them ones. Oh damn ...I may order a sample before i buy it then x

Hi Collin

I was purchasing the 5% to use as a stand alone product. I plan to use the booster drops with the Tantrick 8% and 10% that I already have in stock to take the % higher.

Is there any point buying higher than a 10 or 12% if you can buy booster drops to do this for you?

I stock 8.5%, 10%, 12% and 16% Sienna :green:

I do get a call for the 8.5% but only really use it on brides and scaredy cats lol lol

Kylie, I just spoke to the lady on the phone, she said it smells like an old dishcloth but it may be her because its 'that time' I just sprayed another client with it who didnt think it smelt bad whilst it was being sprayed and commented that she thought it had less smell if anything! She will give me feedback on colour and smell tomorrow.

I called the lady from yesterday and she said she LOVES the colour (she is olivey naturally) and she said that she can smell it on her pillow, dressing gown etc BUT she would suffer the smell for the colour so it cant be that bad! :green: She is going to wait for her daughter to get in to get a 2nd opinion but she definately thinks she'll have the 16% in future :green:

I dont think it sprays on as dark as the 10 and 12, more like the guide colour of the 12.5%

Hi, sorry to butt in. I use 8.5% on all pale clients even though they wanna go darker as I'm afraid the 10% will look orange ( that's what sienna x company told me) Your clients obviously seem to like the 10% on their pale skin?

I have found that even 10% or 12% on my pale clients has been fine, no sign of orange anywhere and they absolutely love it.

I have found that not many people want to go as low as an 8%, I haven't used mine for ages...

Jackie x

That's good to know. I presume you still explain what could happen, i.e. go orange just incase?

Yeah, I do explain but most of them don't seem bothered. I am doing a client with LA Disco 18% on Monday, can't wait to see what she come out like. She isn't particularly dark skinned but she started with a 10% and I have taken her up by 2% every time she has a tan as she wants to be really dark. She had 16% a couple of weeks ago so fingers crossed that it will be fine...

Most of my clients want it to look obvious that they have a tan..
