Hi all, just a quicky really. I just wondered what you would politely say to a client about a wart on her finger if you spotted one, without making her feel embarrassed? Obviously it needs to be covered up prior to any massage or treatment where contact will be made to the area.

Do you all just use a plaster and pop it on the client or is there something better to use to seal / cover the area? I haven't come across this yet, but just want to be ready! x

I would say something along the lines of:
"Mrs X, have you noticed this? (pointing out the wart to her)"
She would then more than likely say either that she hadn't OR that she had and didn't think any more about it... then you'd explain to her what you believe it could be (as we don't diagnose) and advise her to see either her pharmacist and/or doctor.

I would do like you and cover it with a plaster during her treatment, making sure to make a note of it on the consultation card.

hth's :D

i carry some little round plasters just in case and just pop one on most times they will say oh yeah i saw that last week but not got round to doing anything about it lol
