Spray Tan - How do you do yours??

Hi.

Was wondering, what do you all do when you are tanning? A few q's if you don't mind me asking..

1. Do you moisturise elbows knees etc before tanning?
2. Do you use sticky feet or couch rool or...what do you use basically?
3. How do you clean your tent, and how regularly?
4. If doing mobile, do you put a towel outside the tent so when they step out they defo don't get any on carpet?

Thanks in advance. Just starting tanning and I'm so pernickity myself that I wanna get everything perfect. Got my second practise tan tomorrow but its her birthday weekend so I am majorly feeling the pressure even though I told her I was needing practise only!!!! Thank you xxx

I'm going on training on Sunday. Just doing a couple of practises between now and then so I know if there is anything I need to ask about. Just feeling a bit of pressure cos this friend is going out at the weekend!! Just like to know how everyone else does their stuff xx

I presume you wasn't taught that in you training????

I'm very fussy when I do my clients and I put a blob a barrier onto their palms, get them to rub it in their palms then apply to knuckles, joints, cuticles, elbows, knees, backs of ankles, toes and a quick glide over top of feet. I get them to apply it sparingly just so that they dont have white knees or something!
I use sticky feet and place a towel inside the tent.
I clean my tent using detol wipes HTH

Thanks for your help.. Its great to hear what everyone else does, at the mo I'm putting a towel at the bottom of the tent and checking feet as they come out, but I'm always really worried I'm gonna have some black soles one of these days!!!!!

I get clients to apply moisturiser to knees, elbows, backs of the ankles, over toes then get them to rub some in their palms and go inbetween fingers.If they have any excessively dry patches anywhere else then i get them to put a bit there too. I then apply vaseline to fingernails and toenails.
I always use sticky feet.
I am salon based so i have a booth not a tent and i just press a button when i've finished and it washes itself :lol:

I can't stress enough, please give your clients sticky feet and don't cut corners!
I myself stand only on a towel when I get sprayed and my feet go dark. They may cost you a bit more money but you want your clients to be happy

I always have something on the floor infront of my tent in case of any 'accidents'!

I use a barrier cream for knees, elbows and hands + feet.
I too use sticky feet.
As for the cleaning, I wipe down after each tan with dettol spray. Once a month I set it up outside and hose it down with a jet wash.

As I say, I'm really fussy myself and if I had dark feet I don't think I would be happy with the salon/tanner who did it. I did my first tans today and was really pleased with them...just gotta wait and see if they are pleased tomorrow morning!! Thanks a lot for all your help xx

I don't moisturise anywhere at all, unless an excessive dry patch. I think it must depend though which solution you are using as I find the the Vani-T Liquid sun doesn't cling to dry patches at all, but the velocity one can do (not always) if really dry.
2. Do you use sticky feet or couch rool or...what do you use basically?
I use a clean towel for each client. No sticky feet as they stuck to my clients feet when I tried them out lol. I have never had anyone with any marks on the soles of the feet.
3. How do you clean your tent, and how regularly?
I just use regular cleaning wipes, comes off no problem. Clean it at end of each day.
4. If doing mobile, do you put a towel outside the tent so when they step out they defo don't get any on carpet?
I do have a towel outside the tent.

I think I did really well today. Just worrying about this girl tomorrow cos it is her night out but I reckon as long as it goes as well as it did today we'll be fine!!!

I am just so impatient I cannot wait til Sunday I am super excited!!!!! WOO HOO
