Hi geeks, I am just about to finish my level 3 in beauty, and I am planning on going mobile as soon as i finish college. To be able to spray tan on the public do i need a qualification? As I have just bought myself a machine to offer spray tanning as part of my services. I am planning on getting insurance but i am not sure whether the insurance would cover the spray tanning.

Unless you have had any form of training I would recommend you don't let yourself loose on the general public...certainly without having appropriate insurance in place.
Training ,accreditation and insurance is relatively cheap these day's and essential.
HTH

To provide spray tans for the public you do have to have a qualification in spray tanning so this will be covered on your insurance without the certificate you wont be able to get insured.

I am with couture spray tanning and its a great looking tan, very natural looking and lasts really well. If you want more information on booking a course with them, there are trainers in every area in the uk, Pm me and ill give you more info.

thanks.. well in that case, if i was to train with one company would the insurance cover me to use another company. i.e. if i was to train with fake bake would i be able to use other brands instead/as well?

Unlike the nail sector you will find that the spray tan sector is very transient...you can train with one company and use another companies solution...a bit unfair but hey ho that's life

Many therapists offer more than one brand to there customers or find the best specific solutions to offer from more than one brand
