Hi folks,

I've had a client enquire about spray tanning & she wants to know if it's ok to have done whilst she is breast feeding (not at the same time obviously, lol)

I can't remember what I was told about this in my training. I know hormones are changeable in pregnancy which can affect the outcome but would appreciate some advice about breast feeding.

Thanking you :green:

I trained with st tropez and what I was told was not to tan over the breast because they were breastfeeding not a nice taste for the baby other than that they said it was ok. Hope it helps

Yes thats what i've been told and have done to my sister-in-law.

Tan, but avoid breasts. I'm sure most women wouldn't want this area done when breast feeding anyway.

The rest of the tan shouldn't be affected.

Hi Sarah

Yes its fine to tan someone whos breastfeeding. Its worth avoiding the majority of the breast where the baby will feed unless they have expressed enough food to get them past there first shower.

I ask them to invert a pair of stick on breast pads or use lily pads to protect the area where the baby feeds.

Hope this jogs your memory.

I think common scence has to come into play here....now would you like to suck on something thats been spray tanned:eek:

....best to avoid the nipple area if she is adamant to have a spray tan

Thanks for the replies peeps. I kinda gathered to avoid the breast/nipple area, just wasn't sure about the whole hormones thing.
