Hello geeks :)! Just a quick question, i would like to know, as i am not sure, why you cannot spray pregnant women in their first trimester?? What could happen? Also why cant you spray someone if they have asthma? Thanks for any advice :)

Its down to the amount of hormones in the body, so the tan may not be even. I had tans all through my first tri and gave tans, my tans were fine on my body and I wore a mask when giving them.

This is always the case in treatments its just to be on the safe side if anything goes wrong with the pregnancy because liability its best to wait until after the 12 week period. Spray tanning pregnant women is risky too because their skin is normally drier because the baby taking all the nutrients from their skin so the tan fades faster and also can make the tan patchy and streaky so be careful.

The asthma thing would be because its a breathing problem and the mist can cause problems for them but i have mild asthma and i always do my tans -just be careful. Lisa

There is absolutely no risk in spraying a pregnant client.
The only reason they advise not to have one in the first trimester is because hormones are raging round the body and can make the tan patchy.
I have sprayed clients in the first trimester and never had one go patchy yet, but it's best to let your client know that this can happen and then they can make an informed choice.
Make sure the room is well ventilated and you have a chair.
I had a pregnant client pass out on me mid tan
She was suffering with low pressure though so i always tell pregnant clients to let me know if they feel the need to sit down!
You can get sniffits which you place up the nose which would also be good for asthmatic clients

There is no risk spray tanning a pregnant female...

other than the tan may not develop evenly due to hormones...its important to cover this possible outcome problem with your customer during the consultation phase.....she may well also experience possibly some nausea if she doesn't like the smell of the tan solution so possibly offer a pair of sniffits and make sure the room is well ventilated...oh and a bucket just in case.

On the Asama issue its mainly due to the inhalation of airborne particles so again sniffits and good extraction is the order of the day here .
HTH:hug:

Hi geeks! Thanks so much for the advice. I feel better now i know :)! I'll make sure to get some sniffits just incase. Thanks :)
