I have a client later on who was booked in for a spray tan, but she has just range me to say that she hasnt exfoliated. Now I use sienna x and I know they do a quick-prep body polish but I dont have any (my bad).

Do I turn her away or is there anything I could use that I might have in that would work meaning I dont have to turn her away and she still gets a tan.

thanks in advance xx

do you have any salt scrub? at college they used to mix that with a little water apply-rub in to the skin then buff off with either a towel or buffing mitt that is one option. They only other option is to advise her what may happen and see what she wants to do maybe not that good of an idea tho.

Also i use sienna and i have the spray quick prep and it well worth the money:)

thanks so much kelly i will give it a try - so you reccomend i get the stuff from sienna x then? i will def get some when i do my next order! xx

the client is actually coming tomorrow now instead of today so i will have a go on my bf tonight and see what happens xx

if you use some think to remove ant body lotion/deodrants then not alot will happend as i have my friend do me and i do here at the last me most of the time we use surgical spirt on the areas we need to and spray away and i have a good tan!! (although its naughty)

And yes i do recomend the prep as i brought it never used it for a month and thought what a waste but then over the next month had 4 walkins and at £20 each i didnt have to turn them away or worry about what mess it may cause if done unprepared

hope it helps:hug:

not a problem for a fellow geek!!:)

I ask my clients when they book to prepare their skin as the tan will last longer and look better.

If they havent done it thats up to them and i willexplain again why they should. As for make up deodrant i carry fragrance free wipes for them to use.

I have the sienna exfoliator prep spray & had to use it last night at a party on one guest who had deo & moisturiser on.

Those who use it - do you spray the client & damp mitt off yourself or give it to them to do?

I did it for her but it is quite watery stuff & took up a lot of time (especially when you've got a whole load of other geusts to get through!)

She still did get a bit of a green tinge around underarms so I must have missed some but not sure how - although it was sort of towards shoulder blade so I guess her deodrant may have travelled further than I expected!

Is it just the guide colour that went green & do you think tan will be usual colour in that area?

Think i would have got her to do it whilst i was spray tanning some one else.

When i have done my own spray tan and not taken off deo properly (when it goes green) the tan still comes out fine

Thanks Jane (& for quick reply!) - I have been worrying about that so will relax now!

Good idea - I think I would do as you say & get client to do it herself next time while carrying on with someone else. I think I am so used to really cossetting my clients when they come to my treatment room but will have to be a bit more time concious at tan parties as you don't really have the time for that then do you?!

Not really as i say i usually give them a sienna leaflet before hand and also inthe price a sachet of tan ext and sachet exfo so they know what they should do. But wouldnt want to start exf 5 people at a a party.

As for the green patch i did think oh god, but i used my mitt to gentle pat down and inthe morn it was all fine x

hi I also use the sienna x solution. my sister is always coming round for a spray tan and has not exfoliated. I actually use lemon juice & water on my walk in clients, all you need to do is buy a bottle of lemon juice ( what you put on pancakes).
1/4 lemon juice and 3/4 water in the spray bottle
spray on to clients skin and then buff off with a large fluffy towel
it is a cheap yet good way to exfoliate the walk in clients. The tans always come out lovely. :) hope this helps good luck with tanning
