I have been impleting a commission based bonus scheme for my staff for a while and it's going really well. Although some of the staff didn't want extra pay, but to have gift vouchers (for Boots, M&S etc), so it wouldn't go through their payslip, due to tax reasons and benefits etc.
My accountant has just informed me that if I buy vouchers for staff I have to declare it on the wages as they should be getting taxed on it. I don't want to do this as the girls are definately putting more effort in.
If I pay for them with my own profits, it can go through my accounts, so I will get taxed on it.
Does anyone know a way to get round this or what do other salon do for staff incentives, that wouldn't effect staff taxes or benefits.
Thanks x
