relax hun it will all happen in good time. Dont be expecting to much from your first leaflet drop. It takes a while but stick at it. You will gain confidence as your business grows. good luck:hug::hug:

My one piece of advice is don't expect miracles. Building a client base can be a long slow slog that takes years, it doesn't happen overnight, and the only way you'll get anywhere is to stay positive and keep plugging away. Other than that, be innovative, don't rely just on leaflet drops & adverts, you need to get out there & meet potential clients, do talks for local groups etc etc.

I would rather say - expect MIRACLES, because if you stay negative and think that this takes years, then it will take years for you. You need to be sure and positive about yourself. It didn't take me years to build a client base. Just be sociable, let everyone know what you do ! Good luck!

thanks im being positive as i know this will work phone local hrdressers today and all 4 are happy to take leaflets and hand out great start :):)

thanks:)x

Whilst I agree staying positive is essential, having false expectations tends not to be so helpful, hence the plethora of posts on this forum from people who are struggling building a client base. Whilst there will always be exceptions, for those of us who aren't in a thriving city but a small town, a business will take time to build. It's better to plan for that than to imagine a full client list is somehow going to land on one's lap from day one!

Have you advertised online yet?

I get much more business now that I advertise online. Make sure you're listed in yell. I also did a search of businesses in my area, its a great way to find more sites to advertise on. Many of them are free or cost just a few quid to prioritise your advert. Have to be honest though I have had more new clients from free sites such as gumtree.
