Hi, I ment to order some tan wipes (the ones that you wipe clients hands with after spray tan) but forgot to order them and wont have them ready for tomorrow

Will alcohol wipes or something similar do the same job?

Thanks :)

Hi Michelle, I am struggling as to why you would wipe their hands after tanning. Do you not put barrier cream around their hands, this should be suffice to help prevent staining. Sorry if I have confused you.

I to use the practice as you Michelle.
I use a hand wipe by No.7 actually I got a whole load at a cheap price, but yes any wipe would do the job.

Thanks, wasnt sure if i had to get special wipes!

Hi Hon, you can use special wipes (tan removal ones) they look professional. You can also use a wet paper towel, wet face cloth, baby wipe, make removal wipe in a pinch.

I just use cheap wet wipes to wipe any barrier cream from the palms. I use tesco tissues (dirt cheap) to wipe finger nails and toe nails and to dry the palms.
I always use mob caps for hair. I would definitely recommend covering the hair especially for blondes!
I always use sticky feet and i get mine from Ellisons as they are the cheapest i have found.
I, personally think they look more professional and clients have commented before they they never get this treatment anywhere else! Makes them feel more pampered and doesn't cost much.
I always get my mob caps from ebay as they are a fraction of the cost from tanning companies and they are red :)

I would just like to make a comment as to Steve post. I am barbie blonde and I have recieved a spray tan a day or so after bleaching and yes I do need to wear a net or my hair will be permanently coloured also I do like to stock tan removal wipes (special ones, lol) If a client has nail enhancements or toe enhancements, and due for a rebalance they can lose the finish that stops the enhancement being porus (sp) and you can stain the enhancement if you dont wipe them down (also from a bad experience with gels).

I agree you don't need special tan remover wipes.
I always apply vaseline to toenails and fingernails and wipe off after.
I have had a tan with nothing applied to my toenails and they were stained for weeks
Vaseline does the job though. I just bought a huge tub (and i mean huge) from Wilko and it was dirt cheap :)

Thanks for the advice, I have some Essie cuticle oil to put on nails and have got aqueous cream for barrier cream.

I ask clients to paint their nail before I come over to tan them, but if they've not managed to do this, how would I apply the vaseline to the nails? and how thickly? thanks xx
