Hi ... so I do minitips extensions and love them but need something for people who do a lot of sport as a recurring slippage problem so my client has tape ins and her first maintenance last night totally drained me ...so I'm equipped with c22 and removal was fine washed them and her with clarify shampoo .. great .. then dried hair went to re tape and a sticky mess I spend the next 2 hours removing all tape with acetone as I tried tape over tape and it was squishing around I was worried it wouldn't hold .. so I completely removed all traces and re applied appointment was 7.30-10.30 really not worth my time and effort when i can mini tip maintenance in 1.5 hours !! Has anyone got any tips for me before I remove them from my price list and give them up ? Many thanks

You can't just stick new tape ontop. You do need to remove all traces of the previous tape.

A full head removal, cleaning up and Retaping takes me 4 hours. So I do it in two appointments. One day I do removal and wash and dry clients hair. Then I have overnight to retape and I refit the next day.

I stick the tape extensions together in pairs and let them 'set' a bit. You can then pull them apart and peel the old tape off. I then wash each extensions, this should remove any left over residue after peeling off the tape, blow dry them all and put new tape on. All in all takes me around 4 hours. Yes it is time consuming but I fully explain the procedure and cost involved to clients at consultation x

I have changed a few clients from tape ins to weft hair. Wefts are much quicker !

Yeah I think that's my next move I need to do a training course on the la weft is that the method you use ?

Make sure you use pure acetone or it may take you longer if remover is watered down.

Are you on Instagram? @larissadoll has just posted a clip tonight of her getting tapes out by rubbing argon oil cream through them. It's a brand you can buy in wholesalers quite cheap.

Yes il watch that thanks [emoji108]
