I have some clients who love the classic, square acrylic shape - even at medium long lengths (which I personally think looks quite blocky). A tutor told me that all shapes, even square should have a slight taper to them to allow them to look slender and grow out nicely. And of course polish can sometimes take the sharpness away from a shape.... so my question is, when creating a 'classic square' salon nail, by how much should I taper the shape when sculpting so that it still looks slim and slender after 3 coats of polish (2x colour, 1x top) is applied?

I’d just practice on yourself or a practice hand until your happy with your shape.
