Teeny weeny no nails...ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

just done a clients nails, major nail biter, omg how difficult was that!!!! the tips were so hard to get on, i blended them in and made sure the free adge wasnt long so they didnt look stupid but her nail bed was sooooo teeny, she came to get enhancements to stop the biting so after a few rebalances hopefully the nail bed will appear longer and more elegant, my first hard client!!!! any one else experienced this and secretly freaked out???!!!!!! :smack:

Ohhh yes, I had a girl last week with really really small nail beds, she bit them and they were fan shaped nail bed iygwim. I made a huge mistake of sculpting them, and they looked awful I am obviously not experienced enough to be sculpting on these types of nails. I rang my educator, who calmed me down and told me how to deal with it, I had the girl back next day soaked them off, applied tips and started again, and the girl was thrilled with them, I even put some sparkles on them, and it made me feel sooo much better to have made her see I can do a better job.

But yes my heart sank when I seen her nails, but has gave me experience with dealing with these types of nails.

I just did a 14 year old girl for the same reason yesterday. I spoke with her mother at length about care of the nails before I agreed to do them. Her nail beds were tiny and she had about half of her nail plate left. I prepped her and layed down two l&p colors in a fade. I layed them right on her finger and allowed them to harden, then filed and shaped. I finished with a clear gel glaze just for an added bit of strength then I explained to the child that I would not allow her any length for at least 4 weeks, or until her nail had grown out to the end of her finger.

She was so happy just to have a fingernail, but the colors were a bonus. I really enjoyed it!

i have her twin sister in tonight to do her nails so im looking at it as good practice!!!!, she was chuffed with them which was the main thing!!!
