The dip system..??

Hi all, My mother has recently returned from a trip to Toronto, Canada. She had her nails done using a "dip" system. They look wonderful (the Tec has done her job properly) and theyve even lasted three weeks. Do we have it here in UK anywhere? if so what are your views? is it named something else over here?
Just wanted some more info on this from tecs that may have come across it?

If you search the forums for:
"backscratchers"
"gel-resine" (what we call them here in Montreal, Quebec)
"tip and dip"

Then you will find tonnes of threads of the subject and LOADS of info.

I did them for over 15yrs..... still do them occasionally.
But my preference is UV Gel, 2nd Acrylic, then lastly 'dips' aka 'gel-resine' or 'tip and dip'.
They are simply not as strong as other methods, nor as versatile.

I'm going to have a quick look. Must say I was impressed though, (and so was my ever-critical mother!!) I would love one day to be lucky enough to visit different countries just to watch different Tecs at work, using different systems. This is a new whole wide world!!
