I've decided to do a website with some guidance and free to use templates (client record cards, aftercare leaflets, bookkeeping etc). I tried to start something similar with a couple of the pro bodies but although they liked the idea it just never got off the ground. So I'm going to do it  and hopefully it'll help some people avoid common traps and mistakes.

As I say, it's for the practical side rather than the treatments. I've got the following topics written up, some of them are related (record keeping and accounts for example) but these are the main areas:

Regulations (red tape you need to know about)
Your work premises (home, rented, mobile)
Advertising channels (print, social media, web)
Treatment equipment and sundries (sourcing, care of)
Record keeping (client details, accounts, H&S etc)
Costing treatments
First clients (building up the client base)
Sales analysis
Accounting
Cutting costs
Growing the business or maintaining it (opening a salon, specialising in one area)

Anything I've missed?

A few of you know that I've been writing a book on the business side of things for self employed therapists, but I've decided to also do a website with some guidance and free to use templates (client record cards, aftercare leaflets, bookkeeping etc). I've nothing to add other than good luck. It sounds exciting. I can't wait to see your updates as your idea progresses x

I love this idea! Good luck! This book is well needed as I didn't have a clue when I started out , I've just kinda learned as I went xx
