Tips for working in a salon

Hi Geeks,

I've been working mobile and a little from home doing mainly friends and family and friends of friends. So there hasn't been too much pressure.

It is my first day tomorrow starting in a salon. I will be working every Saturday on a self employed basis.

Do you have any tips for me that I may not have thought of? I will be doing acrylics and gel polish.

I'm quite excited but also a tiny bit nervous. It's a hair and tanning salon and the stylists and staff seem lovely so hopefully won't be any problems.

Just be super friendly and clean up after yourself. Upsell too and always remember to ask them when they want to rebook in with you.
What sort of tips do you mean?

Thanks I will definitely need to remember to encourage them to book in again for maintenance. As I'm used to friends they normally just text to see if I'm free!

Maybe a loyalty card scheme to keep them coming back eg 1 stamp per app then on 10th app £5 off? X
