Hi,I recently gained a regular client who had her nails done at a NSS nail bar ,I have infilled them twice, she phoned today to say the NSS nails have really lifted badly, shall I soak them off for this appointment Saturday, and we start again.Ive told her yes..I feel really unprofessional saying this, but I dont want to be sat for hours soaking them off for her..if you can see where Im coming from,I dont mind soaking my own work off,but from one of these other places I dont know what its going to remove like.

I have another lady next week too, who had bad lifting from a NSS nail bar,I filed off what I could, but Im just worried now when I see her next week theres going to be severe lifting, and I dont want to have to soak them off!

What do you do,Im so pleased Ive got these two ladies as regulars, but Iam unsure as to what to do at this point?

Hiya ... if they are all lifted then you will have to soak them off...i know its tedious but unfortunately its part of our job...

Just use a good new file and de-bulk as much as you can first....then when you have done this to the first nail, soak lint free wipe and place on nail and wrap with foil....then de-bulk the 2nd nail and wrap...keep doing this till all nails are wrapped, by the time you have finished the last nail the first one might be almost there.

Ok thanks thats a good idea, the only other thing I worry about is what sort of condition her nails might be like underneath as theve had an electric drill used on them, sposse I ll just hope for the best and if they are in bad condition ,recommend her some manicures untill there in good nik again, before she can have extensions put back on?

I always soak off just as Angie (Bagpuss) has recommended whether these are my own nails or someone else's. It's just a great way of keeping things going. IE when the last nail is wrapped you can go back and keep working - scrape & file off a bit more if needed.

I always charge extra for soaking off other peoples work as you can never be sure how long it will take.

If the nails are drilled to bits, then sometimes, it may be helpful to manicure until they are better, but, then again an overlay will really help to give them some strength & protection.

Until you have these babies off, there's no way you can tell their condition really. It's a suck it and see situation.

Leastways, if you do re-apply, you know it's your work & products you are dealing with. I would also suggest to her that if her nails are damaged, then you cannot be sure if they will have no lift problems or not. Badly damaged nails can lift due to the simple fact that they are too damaged.

I hope all that makes sense. Good luck with them hun. xxx

Thanks Bev thats really usefull , and yes does make sense.:)
