Hi

those of you that offer a free toe wax during a pedicure, at what stage in the pedicure do you do it?

I would like to offer this as 9 out of 10 pedicure clients seem to have hairy toes. it will cost me very little to do but is a great extra.

thanks
BB

Hya,
I don't offer a toe wax when I'm doing a pedicure, I usually do it if I'm doing a leg wax, but I would of thought that you would do it at the end of your treatment before you paint the nails, because the pores would be open after you waxed so you would not want to get any products (creams, masks etc) on the area in case it caused irritation.

Hey

I totally agree with gemini i would always do it after applying all the products so no products are entering the pores. HTH xxx

Right, how do you mention to a client "oh, I see you have hairy toes, why don't I wax them for you?" without them getting offended?

Lol, I agree, its kind of weird one...

Hmmm good point! I was thinking ooh thats an idea but now I will wait for the answer! Lol Lx

If your offering it as a complimentary option perhaps you could offer in the consultation before you've looked at their feet... "and would you like your complimentary toe wax?", then they would have no reason to take offence?
xx

Ah good idea Kayley - some clients might still be a bit embarrassed I suppose, or they may have no idea that their toes are hairy. It would be annoying if they said no, then you got down there and realised they really needed it!

*nervously goes to check toes*:lol:

i think there will always be people embarrased by their body hair though however its approached, i personally would be less embarrassed as i'd think "oh, my toes are normal!" or at least think it must be something the therapist see's all the time or why else would they offer it. xx

I dont even ask I just do it....or pluck them ( or i've even 'filed' them off:green:)

if They want pretty feet n toes ...they want pretty feet n toes..they dont want mingin black hairs sprouting out of the big toes!

Most peeps say 'oh i hate them hairy bits im so glad you did that':green:

..................and yes RIGHT at the end of the treatment (or pre polish/gel)

If you want to offer this, then just say on your site or price list that it's included in the price and just do it. xxx

yes it was an idea i got from a thread on here a while ago - can't find it now - and was going to include it in the price.

Having read your advice I think i will do it just before i do the polish.

I always include it in a leg wax and have never offended anyone that i'm aware of! if i see they have hairy toes i just say "are we doing the toes as well?" and of course they always say yes!

thanks for the advice

I agree. If you ask them if they want their feet waxed, it's like saying 'Did you know you have hairy feet?' xxx

I totally agree... I never usually ask if they want their toe hair removing.. just get on and do it... that was until I had a lovely male client who was having a full body wax... I went onto applying the wax to the large toe on one foot which was very hairy... and he said.. oh please don't wax my toes.. I don't mind the hair there!!! I spent 10 mins applying oil to try and remove the wax without removing the hair!

Bless him!

OMG... don't even joke about that... hehe.. I have had to, on more than one occasion, pick out wax from the poor clients butt when I first started intimate waxing.. not giving it enough time to set up sigh!

wow, i have been wondering how to do this, as i wax my own toes. i have decided to add if in with a pedicure and state on listing "all pedicures include toe waxing". on the phone when they call i will also mention includes toe wax so they can opt out of that if they like.
