Hi All,

I am thinking of starting a new career in doing nails. I have always loved doing my friends and families nails and would like to be qualified in doing it. I also hope to open my open nail shop.

I currently live in London and was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction for training courses in London. I have a day job and would like the training course available on weekends or evenings. I understand I need a NVQ3 in nails to open up a salon. I am not qualified and have no experience in the nail industry.

Any help or advice on this would be sincerely appreciated.

Thanks
Judy

Hi Judy and welcome to the site :) You have made the first step by asking about how to become a professional nail tech, There are many routes you can take whether it be college or by training with one of the many nail companies.
The best thing you can do is search the site for any questions you may have and you will find loads of info, Just be warned that being a professional nail tech is not easy but with good education it is so worthwhile.
Good Luck

Many thanks Lellipop. I have found out some information, Can I sak where you did your training? I am looking for reccommendations? My family would like to set-up a nail shop as soon as possible and has asked me to help out. Your proffessional advice would be much appreciated!! :) Many thanks. Judy

Hi Judy I actually did my training at college where I did my nvq's , I have also done some courses on top of the nvq and vtct with well known nails companies :) Ring around your local area to see about enrolling at college or ring the nail companies both Cnd and Ez-flow do excellent courses and are highly respected in the nail world.

Hi Judy,

I did my training with CND. They are fantastic and offers one of the best educations in the industry.

They seem to be pricey at first glance, but in my opinion they are worth every penny and more. With CND, you can't go wrong and to get it right at the beginning will save you loads of money rectifying mistakes later on.

Thanks Anna,

What does CND stand for??
