Transferring a domain name

Could some of you tech guys answer the following for me.

For what reason(s) would you want to transfer your domain to another provider?

A few reasons I can think of:

(1) The other provider is cheaper.

(2) The other provider offers services that your existing provider does not (e.g. the ability to update DNS records).

(3) You want to use your existing domain name with a new web site that someone else is hosting for you (although you could instead update the DNS records to the IP address of the new server if your domain provider lets you do that).
