Hi! =) i'm new to this forum!

I have oily to combination skin, on my cheek area.. and just above my jawline, I always get little red spots that are under the skin. I micro exfoliate nearly everyday... and cleanse my face everynight before going to sleep and when i wake up.

Anyone have any idea what the red spots are?? and how I can get rid of them??

How far up on the cheek? Could you have any dental problems at the moment?

Lindsey x

literally on the apples of my cheeks. nop no dental problems atm :(

If they are red and just underneath the skin - it can be anything from using the exfoliater on daily basis, your make up brushes that should be cleaned at least once a week, but also, it can be from sleeping more on one side than the other. Do you have them more on one cheek than the other?

Which exfoliator are you using? I would avoid harsh "manual" exfoliants and try something like Alpha H Liquid Gold, I have seen fantastic results from using this every other evening.

Difficult to say without looking at your skin but little red spots could = Rosea, in which case daily manual exfoliation would cause more redness and spots on the skin. Rosea should be treated with oil free gentle products and NO face scrubs!! google it and possibly find a local skin care specialist to rule it in or out:?:

I'd give the exfoliating a break for a week or so and try eliminating possible causes like this one at a time. It would be a good idea to get hold of some AHA exfoliant, Eve Taylor age resist active complex might be a good start for you.

Do you use blusher or mineral makeup on your cheeks?

How is your stomach? Do you have any physical problems or do you hold your worry there?

Thank you to everyone who replied!! :)

The spots arent very big at all, but i want perfect skin. haha. i'll take all your advice and stop exfoliating for a while. I only use the daily ones though, the micro beads so i can hardly feel the exfoliation.

And yes.. my stomach is always uncomfortable!! 5/7 days of the week it always feels weird but the doctor doesnt know why.. and nor do i..

What kind of weird? Ie butterflies, sicky, crampy. Tell me to go away if you want lol but I'm just curious as to how problems in one of our systems can present in another. Hope you don't mind :)

Are you perhaps stressed and drinking caffeine these 5/7 days? Reminds me of me in my call center days :p

Hope the exfoliating is the key for you though, that would be the easy one x

I've had a similar problem this week, my stomachs bloated and uncomfortable and broke out in spots all over my chin and forehead! Little red spots under my skin!
It's my first full cycle since stopping the pill so not sure if it's hormone related but I hope it doesn't last! Got a new cleanser and moistuiriser today in hope that it helps but will follow this post for tips xxx

Can't see the pic but I'm using the app so probs my phone at it again :(

Good luck with your new job! Do you feel your fluid intake is good enough? Dehydration causes havoc with our digestive system and skin. If you like herbal teas I would definitely suggest peppermint.

Hormones are usually said to be the cause of most breakouts around the chin but I've noticed really simple sugars can cause almost identical breakouts to the ones you usually see at 'that time of month' :( for example if I drink orange juice or eat marshmallows I can almost immediately feel my chin protest lol.

I've also recently given up caffeine which I thought may be a factor! Xxx

If you are feeling bloated, try giving up Bread & Potato for a week, replace with wholemeal rice or sweet potato, or wholemeal pitta bread etc. I did this and I felt so much more comfortable, and "lighter" if that makes sense? Good luck!

You could have a slight intolerance to something, most common ones are gluten and dairy. I used have little red spots under the skin on my cheeks also and was nearly always bloated, then I gave up dairy and my skin is the best it's ever been i dont even wear foundation most days which a few mounths ago was a big no no for me and my stomach dosnt bloat as much. It's sounds hard to give these things up but it's actually not if you allow yourself to have a little bit sometimes :) hth x

Thanks for all of your replies!! =D =D I've stopped exfoliating for about a week now, just been using face wash, it's not as red, but still there =(

I tried giving up carbs... omggg it's so hard!! lol.
