Afetrnoon geeks,

Just a quick one with a quick response, pretty please. Are tanning injections legal? I thought I heard something like that some time ago.

I really do not think I would like to inject someone with any kind of needle yet one of my customers called me today and asked if I did them. She knows of someone else who has just started to do them in a hair salon, where the girl rents a room and does nails and spray tan?????? and now tanning injections!

I am not sure if this is correct and I would not like someone who has done a spray tanning course to inject me with them… Any quick advise would be great geeks before my client decides to go with it… Emm x

You really are best avoiding these things .....check with your insurers and have a look at this link where this subject has been talked to death.

Currently promotion and sales of the melanotan peptides (aka "tanning injections") is not legal on UK soil for enterprises operating in the UK because neither of the two peptides is an MHRA licensed and regulated drug. Any outfit offering them in such a manner is contravening UK law. Because the MHRA considers them unlicensed medicines the following is legal though on a personal/individual scale: purchase, importation, possession and usage. I would recommend that you thoroughly read the thread on the link that Colin has sent you just above my post here as it discusses many aspects to using these drugs including the very real risks involved in doing so. Also the thread covers the latest development of melanotan-1 (afamelanotide / Scenesse) as a medication that may eventually become an option licensed UK medical practitioners will be able to legally offer for those seeking an increase in cosmetic pigmentation.

Thanks,

I dont think i would want them doing anyway god knows what the outcome would be. Best to stay safe with the spray tanning in my opinion. I dont know wether they are illegal or not. But as said before you would be best to check with insurance compaines as if they wont insure you then it cant be legal or a good idea. xx
