I know some ladies like to use heat lamps to assist and speed up the removal process of gels.

The less time the acetone is in contact with skin/nails the better I guess?

So instead of spending extra money buying heat mitts could I wrap the clients nails with foil/acteton as usual and then put them back under uv lamp which will heat up the hands/foil and have the same effect as heat mitts?

Do any of you guys do this currently and does it speed/aid the removal process.

Thanks

Erm I wouldn't recommend putting someone's fingers wrapped with highly flammable acetone into an electrical appliance!

Surly this would only be a risk if said appliance was faulty?

To be honest I hadn't considered that though!

Is that really a risk you would be happy to take with a client? I certainly wouldn't! Why don't you buy a wheat bag? I use one, it's very effective and cost me about £7

No, even a properly functioning lamp is still an ignition source and acetone is incredibly flammable. To speed up removal, you can use flax bags ($18) or heated mitts ($40) - just make sure to unplug before inserting the hands. The heat really helps removal, it feels good too and clients like it.
