Hi

Wonder if you could offer some advice /guidence please....

Im currently offering L&P services (CND), not really interested in the gel side right now as im still perfecting the acrylic, I think i'llbe perfecting a good while yet!!!!!

Im thinking of buying a UV lamp purely to offer the gel top coat, im hoping that this will make the nails look lovely as well as cutting my service time down (currently 2 hours).

I didn t really want to spend out too much money on a lamp as its only for a top coat... do you have any recommendations on what type of lamp, what tpe of uv top coat to use ....

My knowledge of gel couldn't even fit on a postage stamp so I have no idea whether a second hand lamp is worth while or if i should just go for a new lamp in case I decide to offer gel in the future ...

What do you think, thanks ???

Hi, if I were you, I would just buy a new one, like you said, you may decide to do gel one day. Ive got Creatives lamp, its fab. Theres a timer on the back for 10 seconds and 2 mins. I also use Creatives gel top coat - fantastic product! I used to do what youve said....about using the gel topcoat to cut the timing down. Infact, it doesnt cut the timing down at all! Once youve gone over the nails with a 180/240 to per-fect, you take away any dust, apply top coat then you have to cure for 2 mins, then wipe away the stickey layer, then apply solar oil..... once ive done the 180/240 file bit, I use the girlfriend 3 way buffer then solar oil. I actually find it quicker. I tend to do 5 seconds on each nail using the grey side, then 5 seconds per nail on white, then 5 seconds on black side (and go like mad with this side!) Shine is lovely :)
Hth a bit xx

If you want a cheap price go to premiere nails source. com they have a few to choose from. I will be buying mine there today or tomorrow and I will use NSi glaze in go has to tacky layer to remove once cured, and all u need is a 9watt lamp. Hope this helps.
