For 2 years I have suffered with a sore scalp. I can barely wear my hair up, I struggle to brush it even can't touch it without pain.
At first I thought it was settling hormones after my baby. Then was told it may be nerve pain due to damaged pathways because of my diabetes.
They put me on medication but it didn't work well. It's getting really bad now I just want to shave it all off!
I can barely move my hair without pain.
It was waist length before but I had it cut to shoulder blades so I know it's not the weight.

It's a little itchy but not red. Currently using head and shoulders.

Has anyone ever come across this before? Could it be as simple as the ingredients in my shampoo?
I've tried all kinds OTC, perhaps it's time to get some professional stuff, can anyone advise?

Thanks!!

Aww sounds awful, :-(
I would personally go to your Dr and get him/her to do some tests - it could be an allergic reaction to something, could be something to do with medication but please go and see someone about x

From what I've heard Head and shoulders isn't good for a sore scalp. I have psoriasis and oh my god when I've used head & shoulders it feels like its stripping my scalp!
I'd definitely see your doctor. Xx

I would advise you to talk to your GP or a specialist such as a Dermatologist.
I hope you get some help with it.

I am NO help - sorry :(
But I have something similar on the top/back of my head? Always tender :( especially when getting my roots done, sweet mother!!!! when the hair dresser pulls my hair to get right to the root it's agony 😢

Stop using head and shoulders ASAP! Try fond redken soothing balance (white bottle red label) and go to the doctors

Yep get rid of head and shoulders, only time i ever get an itchy sore scalp is when i used to use crappy shampoo like that. Switch to a sulfate free shampoo, might want to look into one that contains mainly natural ingredients. Also yes get allergy tested if you can, it could be a reaction to anything, drs should help if its causing that much pain.

I have this problem aswell my little girl is 8 months old and only have I recently started shedding like mad got fine patches and baby hair around my hairline and my hair seems sore if that makes sense. I can just put a grip in my hair and my scalp is so sore after. And when hairs tied loosely and I let it down any advice on all the above obviously I'd love it all to stop lol

Sounds like it could be alopecia if your loosing hair- it's genetic or stress go to the doctor

I'm not loosing hair now that was just after baby. It's been 2 years since I had her and it's not getting better. I will go and get some better shampoo. Only been using head and shoulders a few weeks so hopefully not too much harm done! Thanks for all your replies everyone. From the sounds of it I should possibly see a dermatologist, I never thought to before as it's not red or anything. X

I'm only 8 months pp. so I'm guessing this is still normal ImageUploadedBySalonGeek1386160407.332504.jpg

I seen to shed a lot more now also. I spoke to Docters about this and they just passed it off as things that happen after childbirth
