Hi guys - is it safe to wax someone who has high or low blood pressure?? What are the effects if someone suffers from either?? Thanks.

Hi, as far as im aware neither high or low blood pressure is a contra-indication to waxing, you just need to be careful if the client has been laying down for a while that they get up slowly because low blood pressure can cause dizziness x

Where I am, hypertension is a relative contraindication and if it's not controlled, an absolute contraindication.

I will do clients who are on medication but I ask that they provide me with a letter from their GP to substantiate their status before I wax.

Thanks guys - makes sense now. xx

In reality, most contra-indications are set in place by the insurance companies. Therefore, check your insurance and if it's listed, ask your client to get a doc's letter to keep on file. xx
