I have been asked to do one of my clients wedding make up along with 4 others in the bridal party. Only the bride wants a trial make up. I have my own salon however she is getting married 64 miles away and wants me to travel to it. Its in october and its a saturday which means closing the shop. I use bare escentuals make up. How much do u fink i should charge? I charge 25 for make up in my salon and 40 for make up and a trial

ooOh dear, this is a difficult one, I would ask myself, is it really worth it, could you get someone in to run the salon (probably not) or would the bride be able to pay the costs of closing the salon. What about your regular clients, will they still want to go to you for treatment after they heard that you closed the salon to do a brides make up 64 miles away? I'm sorry if this sounds harsh but it is reality. let me know what you decide

Hi
I guess the client really values you and that's great. However it is a little unrealistic for her to expect the service she's asking for. Does she really understand the implications involved? Im sure if you explained the consequences for you she would understand and no harm done.

Could you send a trusted member of staff instead perhaps?

As far as price is concerned I would probably charge them all £40. You can justify charging more for wedding make-up. Time and effort involved it is worth it for them and the bride still gets a trial thrown in!!
