What is mineral makeup?

For a start what exactly is mineral makeup? All makeup contains minerals, so what's different about mineral makeup? Also, these products describing themselves as mineral also contain other substances, so what is the difference between them and conventional makeup? Sorry if I'm being really stupid and pessimistic, but it just seems like another clever marketing tactic to me.

I use Mineral makeup in my salon and on myself would,nt use anything else.

Mineral Makeup does,nt contain all the crap that other makeup does.

Mineral Makeup is what is says tbh, made with pure minerals vegatable oil, vitemins all natural products.

With ordinary makeup yes they can contain Minerals but they also have Talk, Chalk and preservitaves that make your skin dry.

With mineral makeup it makes your skin feel really soft, look very natural, and lasts up to 16 hrs. and you dont need to use alot of it as it spreads lovely.

I find mineral makeup get rid of fine lines, bags, sags etc alot better than normal makeup does
