Hi

what do you find is the most important thing in your business and how do you approach it?

Do you find its the clients? what do you do to make them feel most important?

what are the tiniest things that you do that you find makes such a big difference and what have you learnt is a def no no?

The clients and my employees, in that order. We work very hard to retain our clients. Far better than constantly chasing new ones.
We make our clients feel important by constantly researching, training and introducing new things for them to try.
I also ban my staff from being too hitlerish about timing.I like to think we are kind and nice to our clients, and they respond well to that.

i agree with persianista. i say that clients come to your salon 50% for your haircut/colour/whatever you do, and 50% is made up of location, your personality and attitude...i've got a wee dear who nearly cried when i finished doing her hair cos it was the first time anyone had taken the time to do her hair, and have a chat with her.

thats something really important to me and my salon. i love clients leaving saying "i love my hair", not just because I know that will make them come back, but just knowing you've cheered someone up. thats what i think makes them return (and also that im the best hairdresser in the land LOL)

customer service is rright top of my list.

in addition, i got a pack from wella which im gonna give to my staff, it had a step by step consultation. and 5 tips on how to make your client feel special. none of them are pushy or fake, so im going to suggest them to the girls. :D xxx

Clients,without them we wouldn't have a business.Employees would come a close 2nd but I don't have any yet.

I think giving the best service you can to your client from the minute they walk through the door to the minute they leave.

Listening to their needs and anxiety's.I like to pamper my client,Making sure they are comfortable, give them extra cusions or rolled up towels to make them as comfortable as possible throughout their treatment.A heated wheatgerm bag popped under their feet if they are cold,an assortment of refreshments other than bog standard tea or coffee, and not the cheap smart price brands. There is nothing more off putting than a cup of tea made with a cheap tea bag.

Using quality products and being up to date on latest trends, treatments and products.

No,no's for me would be talking about people in a nasty way to your client, talking about your problems to them(they are a paying client, not your friend, and they do not want to hear about your issues...well most don't generally)

Going that extra mile is important, you want them to go away and tell their friends and family that they had a good treatment and that you were professional and hospitable, word of mouth is the best advertisment around, spreads quicker than wild fire.
