Hi,

I'm looking into doing some beauty courses and wonder from others experiences which beauty services you offer that are worth training in and get you constant business?

Also who you have done your training with if u don't mind saying?

Thanks xx

Where are you planning to work? For yourself or in a salon or spa? It all depends on where you want to work and what you want to do? Do you want to be a nail tech or an all round beauty therapist? Or maybe a massage therapist? Xx

I trained in beauty at college years ago, but have done further waxing courses and others.
But waxing is my constant. I did extra training with Kim Lawless!
A close second is Shellac. Training is with CND.

Probably services tht are best to do as a mobile/home beautician? As I do hairdressing but would really like to widen my business

So any service that's good for that, that has a high profit

Xx

I'm not a beauty therapist so can't comment on the various beauty treatments, but am qualified in many different forms or massage / bodywork. I have found that I am busiest in those areas that I really enjoy ;) For me, that's remedial work, some sports and shiatsu and I do think there is an unwritten natural law that you attract clients in areas you have an interest ;) So I would first consider what areas really interest you, then you can look at the practicalities.

I'm a mobile spray tanner and it's very popular in my area! If you find a good brand you can offer your services for a very good price too! I used LA Tanning and their prices are amazing! Xxx

Individual eyelash extentions, I am fully booked weeks in advance x

I'm also a hairdresser but have trained in nails and now offer gel manicures. I trained with opi gelcolour :)

I fully agree. Treatments that you enjoy doing are easier to sell. Plus the work is a lot easier if you enjoy it and you will always do a better job.

I was just wondering, as I am looking to train in this also.. Do you offer this as a mobile service? X

My personal best sellers are definitely nails, tanning and facials...

Nails are very constant, all year round treatment that everyone wants, inc toes. I do CND Shellac (train directly with them via Sweet Squared) and LCN gel extensions (train with them via Beauty Concepts/BCI)

Tanning is great as it's fairly cheap to set up - most brands offer training, as do the hair and beauty warehouses, so check out your local one. Look at what the average price is in your area for a spray tan and charge accordingly, but you can earn on average £15 for 20 mins work (less time if your tent and equipment stays permanently set up!!)

Facials are more time consuming and often a bit more expensive to get started, but the return for investment is high as you can charge on average around £35 for a facial, some more specialised ones even higher prices and it takes roughly an hour for a decent facial. Like I say, probably the most expensive to get set up, but good return. I do a number of facials, but my most popular at the moment is the Nu Skin Galvanic facial using Age Loc products. I also sell the aftercare products in my salon. All training was done via NuSkin.

Hope that helps... xx
