Hi there!

I'm all new to this site and I was wanting a bit of advice from all of you who have been in my position!

I have been qualified now for a short time and I was offered to rent a room from the local hairdresser in a small village to carry out my waxing tanning and nails I have took her up on the offer as I am determind to get out of office work and make a go of this!

But my main question is I am currently carrying out many homers with my acrylic nails and gel toes not so many manicures and polishes as I will be offering the manicures and pedicures with polish as a treatment option, what colours should I use as a base palette? I have my french polishes variety of pinks, base coats, strengtheners etc but as for colours I have mainly bought what I like for personal use!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

Kx

Everyone has differents tastes really so its hard to say what few are the best to have, I would have a few neutral colours, gold, beige a classic red and a bright red, I would have a nice brown, a couple shades of pink, and a lilac, from there you could build as you were asked for colours, younger clients may like black, navy or neon colours, and elderly clients like the more classic colurs such as gold and lilac, but really with everything, everone has their own tastes so its hard to say, you can build as you go though , good luck hth x

Don't forget the good old French colours too.

I think Ruth is right, have a little bit of everything and build up your colours as and when requested. Neutrals, pink and reds should be a hit with most clients I would have thought.

My elderly ladies (80+) are really into bright pinks at the minute. But not the young pinks, the more grown up colour shall we say. ;)

Lots of clients have requested french on their toes at my salon ( drives me nuts doing it though!) Also brightish pinks and corals are popular on toes right now.
On fingers I'd say classic red, deep plummish red, neutrals ( beiges and pale pinks ). In the winter, warm browns and muted mauves, pillar box red for Xmas.
But yes, good idea to see what clients suggest and then get them in gradually.
