It looks like Onycholysis, be careful this could have been caused by damage to free edge or allergy to drug treatments or nail products, It can progress towards the lunula but the nail won't come off. Lots of tlc needed, you should not service the lady until it has cleared up, perhaps sell her some solar oil to help nourish and encourage healthy growth?
