Hi All. Im not new to waxing in any way or form but from noseying around on this i noticed that most of you use some barrier before waxing.
Now i do sometimes use a light talc before waxing if the client is clammy but never used an oil?? I actually thought if i used an oil it would prevent the hair from being removed.
My question is what would you recommed to use before waxing with warm wax that will not stop all the hair being removed?? It actually makes sense that it would make it more comfortable for the client but i do not want to jeopardise having a really smooth wax either.

Looking forward to the replys x:?:

sooooo pleased you asked that kassy because i was just thinking the same thing ! i done my waxing training 11 year ago and was told skin must be cleansed and dried before warm waxing so im a little confused !

Someone may correct me :D but I think it is just for certain waxes such as berins you use jasmine oil it createds a lipid barrier , I used talc before too xx

You can use a TINY amount of oil on the skin before strip and non strip wax. Jasmine oil is a gorgeous one to use, however, you can use a tiny bit of after wax oil and i have even used a little bit of grapeseed oil before.
The idea is that the oil prevents the wax from sticking to the skin as much thus making the treatment much more comfortable for the client. It stops the skin from going as red too which makes it perfect for facial waxing.

I cannot stress enough that you only need a little bit of oil though, otherwise you will find the wax will not go on. If you put too much oil on, don't worry, just blot with tissue and carry on.

Give it a whirl and let us know how you get on:D

Ah was't sure about that but good to know as still got some ABC cream wax to use up thanks :D xx

You can use a tiny amount of oil under any kind of wax. If you want to try it out before you choose a brand, try a tiny amount of baby oil. If you can see the oil shining on the skin, then you've used too much.

Try Perron Rigot, Jasmine Oil. They were the first company to come up with the idea many many years ago, and it's very light. Perfect! xx
